The Russian military crossed into Ukraine three years ago. Russia and the USA are negotiating how to end this senseless war but failed to include Ukraine!

FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT NOTE: The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects freedom of speech, religion, the press, and assembly. The Government cannot restrict the free expression of ideas, including what people say and what they don't say. The Supreme Court has said that freedom of speech is a fundamental right that allows people to discuss public issues without fear of punishment. Any retribution for my words constitutes a violation of the US Constitution. According to the Trump’s own inauguration address, he stated he won’t be censoring people’s voices.
Negotiation to end the war
The ambassador for Russia, and the Secretary of State for the USA were negotiating the end of the Ukraine-Russian war in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – without any representation from Ukraine. Obviously, Ukraine is not accepting a negotiation under those terms and likely continue fighting rather than accepting a decision made without Ukraine’s consent.
As you could imagine, the rest of the world who is not on Russian’s side, is condemning this decision to exclude Ukraine from a negotiation that is not taking in consideration the pain and suffering this very war has been inflicting by killing their citizens for three years. Most of the world, to include most of the USA, considers Trump’s actions a capitulation and that his administration is being instrumental in letting Russia get away with what has been called by the international community ‘war crimes against humanity.’ Putin himself has a warrant by the International Court, although it has not been enforced.
Trump has said publicly that he is very “close” to Putin and called Zelensky a dictator. Keep in mind that Ukraine was unable to hold elections in 2024 because of the very war that started in 2022 when the Russian military crossed into the Donbas area in Ukraine. Zelenski actually has a very high rate of approval because of the very reason that he did not capitulate to Putin. The rest of the world who understands what it is going on with this geopolitical quagmire recognizes the reason why Ukraine is holding on to this line with their very lives.
There were even people from the GOP including politicians and Right-wing media outlets that told Trump that Putin is the actual dictator. In fact, the front cover of the NY Post Newspaper (which is otherwise better known by many as a Right-wing tabloid), printed on the cover page a photo of Putin with the caption: “President Trump, THIS IS A DICTATOR and 10 other Ukraine war truths we ignore at our peril.” The article spanned from page 4-5 written by Douglas Murray. The cover also had the US flag on the top left side and the Ukraine flag on the top left side. And was published on Friday, 21 February 2025.
In a small box on the front page, another caption reads: “It’s right for President Trump to want to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine, but there are certain truths we all must remember – namely that Vladimir Putin is solely responsible for this war. He is the one who started it, and the one who committed unspeakable horrors. Any peace that appeases Russia will not be looked on kindly by history, Post Columnist Douglas Murray writes.”
Even if YOU don’t agree with his statement, the fact is that even a lot of GOP politicians agreed and somehow paraphrased this caption on their own words. The message being that Russia is not going to stop if Ukraine capitulates, and that Russia is the aggressor on this story. Despite this divergence, there are also a lot of MAGA loyalists who are even rooting for Ukraine’s demise. Trump himself said something along the lines that since Russia has been fighting for so long in these occupied territories and so many people had died, then just let them keep the territories they invaded.
Look it up. And of course, the sentiment for this narrative that Ukraine is at fault has been repeated by Trump’s cabinet picks; this was particularly obviously articulated by his new Secretary of Defense. He has doubled down on capitulating against Ukraine, and as the top brass from the United States Armed forces have been sacked, the likelihood of the USA aligning with the Russian narrative is all but impossible. The rest of the world is taking note, and the perception of the USA has not been positive at all on the international press.
Whatever your sentiment, I’ve said it before many times, the only person who can unilaterally end this war TODAY, is Putin… because he controls the military force that started it. I’ve written a lot on this series, and if you need to see how we’ve gotten to this point, the following links will go in detail about that.

Europe reconsidering their US Alliance
On my last article for this series, I once again predicted a lot of complicated issues that are happening or have happened already. I went on to say were going to see things getting so precarious that we are likely at the start of World War III, but many people have not quite realized it - yet. The truth is that if the USA capitulates, then the entire geopolitical balance will swing towards Russian’s goals. The only missing piece to achieve this goal by Russia was the USA aligning their narrative with Putin. Russian state-sponsored television stated that the USA via Trump has aligned with Russia’s narratives. Ask yourself why Russia is asserting this.
I’ve said it before and it is worth repeating again, Russia lost already this war more than two years ago. Russia thought they would be able to defeat Ukraine in a matter of days. I went on to say that even if Russia “won” and end up keeping all these territories, they have still lost. Why? Because of the extensive cost for all the exponential damage inflicted upon Ukraine. Russia would have to pay for this exponential damage for several generations. And if they lost, then they would have to pay for that as well, but it would not be on their own timeline. Leaving only a third option, which was to blame somebody else. Their strategy was to put the blame on NATO.
There was however a FOURTH option, but it would have been inconceivable to anybody, because that would require US involvement to not only betray the Budapest Accord, but to side with Russia on their desired end-state for the war. What is Russia’s desired end-state? Keep the territories they are occupying in Ukraine and have the history of what happened there for the last three years rewritten.
In case you were unaware, the Budapest Accord was reluctantly signed by Ukraine after this country gained independence subsequent to the fall of the Soviet Union. Why? The accord required Ukraine to give up their Soviet era nuclear weapons and deterrence defense. Ukraine was worried about future Russian aggression, and with the accord the UK and the USA would guarantee that Ukraine was going to be supported against any future potential Russian aggression. Under that understanding, then all nuclear weapons in Ukraine went to Russia. Remember Russia was no longer part of the Soviet Union either. After the Soviet Union collapsed, a power vacuum in Russia took over, and those people are now the Russia’s elites since the 90s.

What is next?
The Trump administration has made it clear in no uncertain terms that they are not supporting Ukraine, and that they align with the Kremlin’s message – even if that was unintentional, the Russian state-sponsored media is not only saying so, but essentially, they are using Trumps and Hegseth’s words to confirm that Trump is agreeing with Russia’s narrative.
Trump is calling Zelensky a dictator and has blamed Ukraine and Biden for Russia’s decision to cross into Ukraine. The USA wants to get Ukraine’s rare-earth minerals and other natural resources as payment for what the USA has done to help Ukraine defend their territory. These terms would take Ukraine more than 10 generations to pay such a debt. Remember that the USA had an obligation under the Budapest Accord (also known as the Budapest memorandum) of 1994 when Ukraine was forced to give up their nuclear arsenal to defend or deter Russian aggression.
Trump has been asked directly if Putin is a dictator, Trump did not answer but rather went onto a rant that smeared Ukraine and Europe. Trumps seems to agree with Russia’s terms are that NATO will never accept Ukraine as part of their alliance, and that they would keep the territories they are occupying, and that they are no guarantees that the USA would defend the Ukraine for any further aggression by Russia. Oh, and of course the USA gets rights to 50% of the mineral resources, and Trump wants $2 for every $1 the USA spent, and that is $100 billion… this after the country of Ukraine has been fighting a bloody war for the past three years. And if Ukraine does not accept, then Trump will stop supporting Ukraine.
There is supposed to be a meeting between Trump and Putin in a few weeks. So far, the official word is that Putin wants to talk about a lot of other “security” issues – and only one of which pertains to Ukraine. My prediction is that the USA will be aligning more and more with the Russian message, and the rest of the world, except for governments such as Hungary, will be distancing themselves from the USA. This is going to exacerbate some of the tensions between NATO and the USA, as well as the tensions between the European Union and the USA. It won’t end there, because there will be other countries in the rest of the world who will be likely distancing themselves from the USA in support of Ukraine.

Whatever your reasoning for supporting Ukraine or Russia, we have to understand that the divide is highly incendiary. I’ll continue writing on this series as this situation continues to deteriorate rapidly. I’ve said it before. There is only one person on this planet who can unilaterally end this war today. That person does not want it to happen, and it is the same person who ordered their military to roll into Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
I realize a lot of revisionist history is occurring, and it has been going on for a while. That is why I started this series. I recommend you read all the previous articles on this series (linked at the top of this article). Then nothing that is happening today will seem surprising to you. And as a reminder, those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Several world leaders traveled to Ukraine to show their support for the third anniversary of the war. The USA was not one of those. HLC
