Welcome to our Website!

This is our official daughter-dad HALF LIFE CRISIS team webpage. This project was originally created to artistically express all the stuff that is constantly tumbling around in our minds... and there is plenty of that.

Because life is what we make of it...
Our Dad-Daughter Art Project

On 2020 my Daughter Sammy demonstrated a passion for abstract painting and black & white photography. This was great because since forever I've loved art on every form. The idea of creating Half Life Crisis™ was already tumbling in my head for several years, but it is thank to Sammy that it became the reality you see today.

We created this site and social media accounts because we wanted to, and because we could, but there was not really a “goal in mind” – it was just our fun art project. Half Life Crisis™ does not equal "midlife crisis" - but instead it is our realization that sometimes life moves forward so fast that we forget to live while attempting to make a living. This was our way to capture these fleeting moments. In reality it was just meant to be a time capsule for our lives.

Fast forward, and our little Art Project reached more than 79 countries, and we've expanded our little website to showcase talented artists under our Arts Network. Our little art project expansion occurred as I started writing my books and articles and sharing whatever tumbles in my head for posterity. Fortunately, there are people out there who like what we present on our little project… so we continued. Although, some of the spin-off themes were given their own identity as they were rapidly evolving, such is the case for Info in Context™.

Sammy and I decided to keep moving forward with Half Life Crisis™ because we like it, and because we can. Thank you again for your visit, hang out for a while and look around, there is plenty to discover!

Sharing The Fun Everywhere!

Half Life Crisis™ remains our Daughter-Dad project, regardless of how far it grows. We put a lot of love and dedication on this whenever we have time. We are actually very chill people, so we don't take ourselves too seriously. We created Half Life Crisis™ because we liked it and because we could, that won't change.

With that said, since our books and articles have gained a lot more attention that I originally expected (I'm grateful), our project continued growing. And parts of it starting taking a life of its own. And as this evolving occurred, I've realized is that there is no shortage of swindlers and an opportunists that prey on artists. Therefore, Sammy and I wanted to do something about it.

My daughter Sammy is fortunate enough that I am a web developer also, therefore she has her own platform showcase her artwork safely. But is sadly not true for every artist out there, and getting any exposure is extremely challenging. Throughout my life I've been fortunate to meet exceedingly talented artists in every discipline imaginable, but sometimes they did not have a consolidated way to showcase their talent without being buried under a faceless database. So with Sammy we decided to share our platform with them.

That is why we crated our Arts Network, and realized it we needed to give our site a facelift, and organize it a bit more succinctly. We'll be adding more names to our Arts Network every week, and this will give you an opportunity to network with them directly and commission art projects from them. Bookmark this page and discover new talent!

This is how Half Life Crisis™ evolved!

Our Daughter-Dad Art Project!

Welcome to Half Life Crisis™! If you scrolled down this far, please know that you’re awesome and we appreciate you!

This is a quick story about Half Life Crisis™.

I had the idea of starting Half Life Crisis™ after visiting friends in Easter Europe back in 2011. Essentially, I was starting a chapter in my life with my new family and -wham! – I got an epiphany. I’m so lucky to live each day to the fullest, yet life moves so freaking fast! Finally, before 2020 came to an end, I got a chance to sit down and upload this project online.

Long story short, I wanted to create a virtual place where I get to share (and rant) about stuff that has worked out for me while trying to live as an adult. I am a lucky guy who shares a domicile with two wonderful ladies (who are generally kind enough to tolerate my shenanigans, as seen in the picture with my daughter).

Hope you enjoy our site; it is growing a lot more than we ever imagined! Please bookmark this site, tell all your friends, and come visit us often!

Our Small Family & The American Dream

My wife, my daughter, and I always loved art. Although Half Life Crisis is a daughter-dad project, Alicia also likes to participate in any way she chooses. Aki just likes to look cute, and she's always good company. WE don't know how far Half Life Crisis will grow, but we thank you for witnessing through our journey.

I’m 40-something year old Ecuadorian-American, and Retired US Navy Veteran living in the East Coast of USA and I've enjoyed a fun life of traveling different parts of the world, meeting awesome people, and experiencing some crazy adventures. Today, I’m a dad, husband, and a while ago I discovered that I tested as an Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging (INFJ) personality type so my life finally makes sense. I have been an artist since I can remember, and I like to rant a LOT. That is why my articles go on exuberant detail.

Sammy

Sammy is my All-American daughter, and our main Visual Artist at Half Life Crisis. Afterall, this is a daughter-dad project - this whole thing is her legacy. Sammy sees the world from a very unique perspective. She enjoys abstract painting, black and white photography, and if you're lucky she's serenade you with her pitch-perfect voice. Sammy is a happy child who is turning into a wonderful young lady in front of my eyes. She is also the namesake for her very own Sammy Baqueroalvarez ART GALLERY! Welcome to her world!

Alicia D. Baqueroalvarez
Alicia is my wife and Sammy's mother. She generally tolerates our shenanigans. She is a cyber security expert, and a veteran who retired as and US Navy Chief.

BeeZee's Mistress

She is my all-American Pacific Northwestern beloved wife. She came into my life over 20 years ago and we've been married for over a decade. We’ve traveled the world together and, most importantly, she’s the mother of our child. Alicia is the love of my life, and I would not trade her for the world. Alicia is actually very artistic and funny- not sure if she does it intentionally (about the funny part)- but she's awesome to be around. She also volunteers to edit my many language blunders. And of course, Alicia tolerates our shenanigans.

Aki Baqueroalvarez
Aki is our furry princess. She is the most docile creature on the planet, but she is also very protective. She is totally cute 24/7-365.
Aki BaqueroalvarezFurry Princess
"Fluffy"

She is our little Standard Schnauzer that we adopted a few years ago. She is the biological furry child from a family of gorgeous show dogs. Aki is the most docile and loving living creature on this planet. Though her breeding contract says she cannot be a “show dog”, it does not say she cannot run her own show, which is exactly what she does. Every day. Aki just trips and falls into cuteness. You will see a lot of Aki's many photobombs, and cute photos of her in here, and her shenanigans! Aki is a cuddly puppy.
