We welcome FilmoFilm to the Half Life Crisis Arts Network! FilmoFilm is better known for high-level video productions services in the Republic of Ecuador.
Technical Talent
There is awesome talent, and there is jaw-dropping, “holy s-t” talent! The latter is what you will find under FilmoFilm. This would not possible if we don’t’ speak about the person behind the company. I’d like to introduce my friend Fernando Cruz Bonmati. We have known each other literally since we were 4-years old. Both now being in our 40’s makes our friendship all that more remarkable.
Fernando always had a fascination for cinema, movies, acting, music, arts, producing, directing, etc. and he is a self-proclaimed avid “ochentero” which is Spanish for, loving the actual cool stuff the decade of the 80’s created. Yes, we know there were some other truly weird stuffs going back on those days, but there are also some gems that are integral to our culture, not just in the USA but around the world.
Alright, so now that we put that into that 80’s context; think about a time when you’ve watched a movie from that decade. And then there is a protagonist that has an idea and makes it happen despite all odds – because they have the passion, the drive, and somehow are able to convince everyone in their orbit to join on that effort. Well, that is Fernando, and FilmoFilm is an embodiment of that.
But Fernando’s actual experience as a filmmaker got a stellar beginning in the mid 90’s. He filmed, produced, starred, and pretty much did everything from concept to completion – resulting in his very first feature-length film! Audiovisual technology was nowhere near where it is today back in the 90’s, yet as a young college student in Ecuador, he made this “dream” reality. Pun intended because it is also the title of the movie.
The movie was filmed in Spain and Ecuador. Armed with a video camera and his talent, the movie was released to the Ecuadorian audience. He knew that bringing his ideas onto film, or in this case video which is by the way more convenient and today’s industry standard – I’m not aware of anybody else shooting on actual film anymore] was going to be met with skepticism by some of his country-people, he proved all naysayers wrong. This was just the start of a prestigious career.
Fast forward to today, and Fernando has received numerous awards for his work. Although we knew each other for several years, we became close friends by the time he came to USA for college. Our shared passion for the arts was among other things a galvanizing tool that united our friendship to this day – even though we’ve been largely on separate parts of the planet in the last few decades.
Fernando returned to Ecuador and founded FilmoFilm. This industry was largely unknown in the country, and his forward-thinking and innovative process was surely trailblazing. Well, talk is cheap, and an image is worth a thousand words – and by that logic motion images are exponential multipliers. Here is a link to a quick demo reel to see his mastery of the visual arts.

Bringing FilmoFilm into the Arts Network
When Half Life Crisis started the Arts Network, I knew from the start that FilmoFilm led by Fernando Cruz had to be part of this exclusive club. During the early stages of COVID, along with Fernando and a couple of other friends we are planning on making a feature-length movie. And I am here to make a commitment that it will happen – at least before I die.
In all seriousness, as Half Life Crisis, and BeeZee Vision, LLC are being recognized for their patronage of the arts, being able to share the talent of those people and the entities they lead is what I want to do in this new life chapter. And it is happening!
As with all members of our artists club, be in the lookout for Fernando’s own landing page on our Arts Network under FilmoFilm. As our Multinational Arts Network continues to expand with new artists featured each week, please help us support our artists by sharing this page with everyone you know. Also, follow FilmoFilm on Instagram.
Once again, welcome Fernando Cruz and the FilmoFilm team to the Half Life Crisis Arts Network! And yes, we’ll be producing that movie sooner than later! HLC
